The cassette and the unit are designed to be automatically aligned. The cassette only fits onto the device in one position. Two latches allow to secure the cassette. A third latch allows to secure the pumphead. Temperature sensor, flow sensors, air line and pressure line are connected individually.
RM4 provides a regulated cold environment for the explanted kidney. The cold source used to create hypothermic conditions consists in a 4.5 liters water-and-ice slush, inserted in the reservoir.
Add 1 liter of Waters IGL Pulsatile Perfusion Solution
Before starting perfusion of the organ, make sure the perfusate circuit and bubble trap are primed with solution.
Use a clamp for kidney with an aortic patch
Use a cannula for kidney without aortic patch
Use the multiple arteries connector for kidney with multiple vessels
Place two kidneys from the same donor, then initiate the perfusion
The perfusion pressure is maintained at a set pressure.
Screen may be locked to prevent any unintentional operation through the interface.
RM4 can be turned in a mute mode. Alarms remain visual.
The user may set language, date and time, temperature perfusion, default systolic pressure, alarm threshold.
Perfusion data are automatically saved at the end of the perfusion procedure. A data transfer to a flash drive is proposed systematically at the end of the procedure.
Navigate the interface to visualize the perfusion data.
The RM4 control unit has a USB port for data transfer and storage onto a flash drive on the back of the unit.
Empty the detachable reservoir in a container or a sink.
Bleach solution in reservoir, wipe of the reservoir, and dry. Spray and wipe of the unit.
RM4 draws power from two batteries at a time. Depleted batteries may be swapped out for full charge without interrupting the perfusion procedure.
Attach a syringe to remove a perfusate sample for testing purposes
Attach a syringe to inject medication into the perfusate
